Fraunhofer ITWM
Modeling and simulation of processes and products describe the broad industrial application spectrum of Fraunhofer ITWM. Both new algorithms and software products are developed and processes and products are analyzed and optimized in conjunction with industrial partners. With its core competencies in applied mathematics, the ITWM is working on "virtual material and product design", "process simulation" and "diagnostic systems".
Competences in Technical Textiles
Modeling, simulation and optimization for processes and products in the field of technical textiles, specific aspects are:
- Optimal design of melt distributors (CASHOCS)
- Simulation of spinning processes (VISFID) and deposition processes (FIDYST)
- Simulation of weft and warp knits as well as woven structures (TexMath)
- Simulation of filter elements (Filtest) and fiber composite structures (FeelMath)
- Analysis and modeling of microstructures (MAVI)
